Kirkland Redd, Sr., 58 of Navarre Beach, Florida passed away quietly on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at his residence in Navarre Beach, Florida. Mr. Redd was born July 26, 1953, in Jeffersonville, GA; he is survived by Jacob Redd, Macon, GA., Joseph Redd, Atlanta, GA., Fletcher Redd, Norfolk, VA., Walter Redd, Atlanta, Ga. He is preceded in death by Jacob Redd, Sr., Nettie Redd, Esselene Hughs, Ellelene Jones, Major Redd, Mary Humphries, and James Redd.

Mr. Redd enlisted in the military July of 1972 where he served for 24 years then retired in April of 1995. While serving in the military he received medals for Meritorious Service, Outstanding Unit, Organization of Excellence, Good Conduct, National Defense Service and an Overseas Short tour ribbon.
On July 29, 1972 Mr. Redd married his high school sweetheart, Sandra L. Redd where they had two children.

He leaves cherished memories to wife, Sandra L. Redd, children, Dorcas Renee Copeland and Kirkland Redd, Jr. grandchildren, Marcquies Jashun Key and Jasmine Nycole Key, Brothers Jacob, Jr., Joseph Redd, Fletcher Redd and Walter Redd.

Mr. Redd was a loving and dedicated husband and father. Those who met him kept him in their lives. He was always patient, slow to speak but quick to listen. We love you Daddy and we will see you soon.
A visitation service will be held Tuesday April 17, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Rd. N. E. Fort Walton Beach, FL. 32547. Burial will be private.
